Shri Mangala Gauri
Shakti Peedam
The Sacred Abode of
Nourishment, Marital Bliss & Divine Grace

THE SACRED STORY OF MAA MANGALA GAURI DEVI
When Lord Shiva, in immense grief, wandered the cosmos carrying the lifeless body of Goddess Sati, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra to divide Sati's physical form into 51 sanctified pieces, restoring universal cosmic balance.
During this divine intervention, the sacred Breast (Stana) of Goddess Sati fell on the sacred Mangalagauri hill in Gaya, Bihar. This sacred part represents nourishment, maternal care, and the life-giving energy of the cosmic mother.
Revered as one of the key Upapithas in Padma Purana and Vayu Purana, the shrine stands as a legendary testament to marital harmony, prosperity, and spiritual empowerment alongside Lord Shiva as Bhairava Kapaleshwar.
During Lord Shiva's celestial Tandava of grief bearing Devi Sati, Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra divided her form into 51 sacred Shakti Peedams.
Mother Sati's Sacred Breast (Stana) descended on the holy Mangalagauri hill in Gaya, Bihar.
Presided over by Maa Mangala Gauri and guarded by Lord Kapaleshwar Bhairava, this sacred Peeth bestows maternal nourishment, marital harmony, and supreme grace.
