Shri Guhyeshwari
Shakti Peedam
The Sacred Seat of
Mahamaya & Divine Tantric Illumination

THE SACRED STORY OF SHRI GUHYESHWARI DEVI
When Lord Shiva traversed the cosmos in celestial grief bearing Devi Sati, Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra released the sacred limbs to establish the 51 Shakti Peethas.
Both of Mother Sati's Knees (Janu Mandala) consecrated the serene banks of the holy Bagmati River in Kathmandu, Nepal, creating the mystical Shri Guhyeshwari Shakti Peedam.
Here, the Divine Mother is revered as Guhyeshwari — the guardian of supreme esoteric wisdom, longevity, and vitality, guarded by Lord Kapali Bhairava near the sacred Pashupatinath Kshetra.
