Shri Gandaki
Shakti Peedam
The Sacred Abode of
Gandaki Chandi & Himalayan Muktidhara

THE SACRED STORY OF SHRI GANDAKI CHANDI
According to the sacred Puranas, when Lord Shiva performed the celestial Tandava bearing the body of Devi Sati, Lord Vishnu released His Sudarshana Chakra to sever the divine form into 51 sacred parts.
The Right Cheek (Gandasthala) of Mother Sati consecrated the holy heights of Muktinath along the sacred Gandaki river in Nepal, manifesting as the revered Shri Gandaki Shakti Peedam.
Presided over by Goddess Gandaki Chandi and protected by Lord Bhairava Chakrapani, this holy kshethra is celebrated for granting Moksha (liberation), eternal spiritual illumination, and purification from all past karmas.
When Lord Shiva performed the celestial Tandava bearing Devi Sati, Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra released the sacred divine limbs across 51 sanctified Shakti Peedams.
Mother Sati's Sacred Right Cheek (Gandasthala) consecrated the holy heights of Muktinath along Nepal's sacred Gandaki river, where holy Saligram stones originate.
