Shri Bhramaramba Devi
Shakti Peedam
The Sacred Abode of
Divine Harmony & Supreme Bliss

THE SACRED STORY OF SHRI BHRAMARAMBA DEVI
Once, Goddess Sati, the daughter of Daksha Prajapati and the beloved consort of Lord Shiva, immolated herself in the sacrificial fire insulted by her father.
Overwhelmed with grief, Lord Shiva carried her lifeless body across the universe, performing the Tandava of sorrow.
To restore balance in the world, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra to cut the body of Sati into pieces.
It is believed that the Neck of Goddess Sati fell at Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh. Here, the Goddess is worshipped as Bhramaramba, the mother of bees, who destroyed the demon Arunasura, and uniquely resides alongside the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga.
